Your Store Closes Tonight. Who's Watching It Until Morning?

Blinkless monitors your store's security cameras live after closing and overnight, 24/7 if you need it. When activity shows on your cameras, we review the live video. If we judge the person an intruder, we confront them with a live voice-down over two-way audio, notify authorities when required, and send you instant alerts with footage.

When Your Store Is Most Vulnerable

In the FBI's 2019 figures, stores, offices and other nonresidential property were broken into more often at night than by day: 157,327 burglaries at night against 125,554 by day, counting those with a known time.

When Your Store's Alarm Goes Off at 2 a.m.

You or your keyholder get the call and drive in to meet the police. Your cameras only record what happened, and you see it in the morning.

  1. The alarm: It goes off overnight while the store is closed.
  2. The call: The security company calls you or your keyholder first.
  3. The trip in: Whoever takes the call gets out of bed and drives to the store.
  4. The police: They meet the officers there.
  5. The footage: You review the recording after the damage is done.

False Alarm Fees and Police Response

Dallas allows a permitted business 3 false burglar alarms in 12 months free of charge, then charges $50 each for the 4th to 6th, $75 for the 7th and 8th and $100 from the 9th.

Portland City Code 14B.10.090 suspends police response to your alarm after the 4th false alarm in a permit year. Response resumes only when you add audio and/or video verification monitoring or multiple-device trigger systems, pay every fee and fine, and agree in writing to the terms of a 5th false alarm.

What Happens When Your Cameras Pick Up Activity

A trained operator is live on your store's feed within seconds of an alert. We act while it is happening, not the next morning.

  1. Detection: Our technology flags after-hours movement, loitering or unauthorized access and alerts us immediately.
  2. Live check: The operator assesses what is happening on your live camera feed.
  3. Live voice-down: If the operator judges it a trespass or a threat, we order the intruder to leave over two-way audio and keep watching until it is resolved.
  4. Escalation: We contact local authorities when required.
  5. Alerts and reports: We send you instant alerts with live video and footage as it unfolds, then a detailed incident report with supporting footage through our client platform.

Can We Use the Cameras Your Store Already Has?

In most cases, yes: Blinkless integrates with the cameras your store already has, and where they can't be connected, we install new ones.

We check which of your cameras we can use during the free remote assessment, so you know before you decide.

Stopping After-Hours Trespassing at a Florida Retail Plaza

A retail plaza in Florida had ongoing loitering and vandalism after closing hours. After we deployed Blinkless Remote Guarding at the plaza, we issued live voice-down warnings over the speakers and stopped incidents before they escalated. The result was a safer property, fewer incidents and improved tenant satisfaction.

"Before partnering with Blinkless, we discovered security breaches at our Manhattan factory the next morning, after the damage had already been done. Since implementing their remote guarding solution, that's changed completely. We now receive real-time alerts whenever something unusual happens, allowing us to act on the spot rather than clean up after the fact."

Who Watches Your Store at Night: Your Options Compared

You can let your cameras record overnight and check the footage in the morning, watch the feed yourself, take the alarm company's call, arrange patrols, hire a guard or private response, or use a camera maker's capped monitoring service. With remote video monitoring, Blinkless watches your cameras live and confronts intruders in real time, without stationing a guard at your store.

Your Questions About Live Remote Guarding

Will You Watch All My Cameras After Hours?

Yes: we monitor all your camera feeds continuously during your scheduled coverage hours, 24/7 if you need it. We prioritize alerts so real emergencies come first.

What Does Live Remote Guarding Cost?

We price each store by its size and risk level. Live remote guarding costs up to 70% less than traditional on-site guards.

Will Remote Guarding Add to My False Alarms?

We filter out weather, animals and normal movement, then verify live on camera before we act. Your alarm system still falls under any false-alarm rules your city sets, such as Dallas's fees.

Will Police Still Come, and Will I Have to Drive In?

We notify authorities when required and send you live alerts and video during the incident, so you see what we see before deciding whether to drive in. Your local police decide whether someone from your store must be there when they arrive.

Closing Your Store for the Night: What Police Advise

When you close, lock up right away, empty the register and check your windows, lights and cameras, as city and police departments in Philadelphia, Murrieta and Marshall advise.

  • Lock-up and cash: Close with a second person or a neighboring business owner, lock the doors as soon as the store closes, and leave the register open and empty (Philadelphia).

  • Windows and glass: Keep windows free of signs, protect the glass with shatter-resistant film or see-through grills, and bring in anything that could break a window (Philadelphia). Move valuable merchandise and equipment away from windows and doors to guard against smash-and-grab theft (Marshall).

  • Lights: Leave lights on overnight where the public and police can see inside (Philadelphia), and light every side of the building, the alleys and the parking lot (Marshall).

  • Cameras and alarm: Make sure your cameras cover every access point and work, and that staff can share stored footage with police (Philadelphia). Check your alarm regularly (Marshall) and consider having it monitored so it contacts law enforcement (Murrieta).

  • If you find a break-in: Call 911 and don't go in without an officer (Philadelphia).

What We Check in Your Free Store Security Assessment

We assess your store from satellite imagery and the cameras you already have, then give you a written security plan in four parts:

  1. Coverage: Which parts of your store we would watch and with which cameras, such as the storefront and its glass, the entrances and the parking lot.
  2. Hours: When we would watch, after hours or 24/7.
  3. Response: How we would handle an intruder or a break-in attempt.
  4. Contacts: Who we alert during an incident.

The plan is yours to keep, whether you hire Blinkless or not.
